Girma Tefera, M.D, FACS is a Professor in the Vascular Surgery Division and Vice Chair of Global Surgery in the Surgery Department in SMPH. Dr. Tefera is also the principal investigator in multiple multi-center clinical trials that pretest the efficacy of new devices and techniques in the treatment of abdominal and thoracic aneurysms. He specializes in all aspects of vascular surgery, with special interests in aortic aneurysm treatment with endovascular stent grafts and angioplasty of peripheral arteries including carotid artery, iliac and superficial femoral artery. Dr. Tefera has clinical research interests in abdominal aortic aneurysm treatment with endovascular stent graft, distal peripheral artery bypass surgery, and angioplasty and stent for limb salvage.
